Avon Valley National Park

Our first Bush and National Park trip for the year!

Meeting point will be at the corner of Chittering Road and Chittering Valley Road at 08:30 for a prompt 09:00 start.

We’ll be heading into the National Park for some loose rocky climbs, bush tracks (pin-striping likely!) and some interesting descents.

The trip is rated 2-3 and all track can be done comfortably with a standard Land Rover vehicle. There will be opportunity for some challenging terrain for those who feel up to it. Total distance on the tracks would be around 50km.

Due to the nature of the trip it is mandatory that all vehicles have rated recovery points front and rear and everyone attending have basic recovery gear to suit their vehicle (ie snatch strap and bow shackles to match). Please ensure you have a 2-way (preferably vehicle mounted), but if you do use a hand held, please ensure it is fully charged.

A couple of trip limitations:

1. Unfortunately no dogs allowed. There is a lot of 1080 bated poison about and we would hate for your pooch to fall victim to poisoning.
2. Should the Shire call a fire/ harvest or movement ban, the trip will need to be postponed and this will be entirely on the trip leader’s discretion.
3. We will have to limit attendance to 10 vehicles, so please get your names down as soon as possible.

There is a possibility of running the same trip on Saturday 1 February should there be enough interest, so please let us know if you would like to take up that option.

Trip Leader for this one is Ian Tomlinson
