This is an overnight camping trip, but not suitable for campers or caravans, so swags and tents only!
Join Tending The Tracks doing some dune track fencing (yes it does mean that hill), brush fencing, old fence removals, installing signage, seed collection and assisting develop day-use nodes at 27 sites near South of Cervantes in the Shire of Dandaragan.
We will be meeting at the end of the bitumen on the road into the Grey at 09:30am. Work would be around 5h on Saturday and another few hours on Sunday morning.
Dave Henke (Parks and Wildlife, Western Australia senior ranger) & his team will be your hosts and DBCA will provide all materials.
There will be some formalities signing on as a DBCA volunteer and a little OHS chat.
If possible bring your steel toes boots, as well as the usual gardening gloves, hats, sun cream, etc.
Ticks may be present – DBCA will provide tick repellent but its a good idea to wear long trousers!
This work will be ongoing and other areas of need will be added in the future.
This is a biggie and will be ongoing as DBCA are very supportive and see the potential in TTT at many levels. They have had offers from 4WD clubs and were very apologetic at not being able
to get those offers accepted.
We will have to drive it to some extent nominating dates and organising the groups.
Because DBCA are providing gear and staff to oversee they ask that we have at least 10 volunteers.
